Idaho is a special place
In the summer of 2018, both Chris and myself were lucky enough to raft the Middle Fork of the Salmon River (at very high water!), and then a month later do the Main Salmon River in Idaho. Not only that, but the following year, Chris was able to go back again and raft the Middle Fork River again (at lower water) and each time it has been a life changing experience.
If you have not had a chance to boat up in Idaho yet, then put it on your list! Also, note to self to make more friends in Idaho to get on more permits for these type of trips!
It is breath taking scenery with beautiful rivers and people all around. It is so different from the typical desert rivers we have rafted, as well as each section of these two rivers have amazing hot springs throughout your trip. What is better than to soak in a hot spring after a full day on the river? NOTHING. It was pure bliss.
When we saw this video from Oars about their company's history with Idaho and specifically these two rivers, we felt like that energy had returned. We both have never run a river in a dory, however it is on both of our bucket lists. The understanding of the river, the general feel of a team and all that goes with guiding a special river, this whole video made me feel so lucky to be a part of the river community in general.
It is a beautiful piece of art and gives me the excitement to get up to Idaho soon..maybe one day in a Dory.

Cheers and happy boating!
